I have tested and can confirm that Google Now works well on my HDC Galaxy Note 2 mtk6577 phone. Thanks to the guys at XDA forum who made this for all ICS users who are not getting the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update. I must also add that this update will take up more memory and battery power as it constantly connects online and updates your location as well as other stuff like traffic condition and weather. Voice search ala Siri works well too. The only way to disable this is to disable your wifi and 3g/gprs. Your phone must be rooted with clockwork mod to install this. Link here.get it here
